About Shaastra:
Shaastra Nagesar is an experienced radio presenter, producer, dancer and actress. With a decade of radio experience under her belt, she is currently the co-host of the hugely successful award-winning Breakfast show. Along with her love for entertainment and passion for helping people, Shaastra also loves the outdoors, travelling, spending time with friends and family and being a great fur-mom to her pup.
Experience And Progression:
- After achieving her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Drama Studies and Media & Communications she began her radio career on cmmunity radio.
- She quickly progressed from the news department to technical production to hosting shows.
- She was then offered a position at the SABC, specifically LotusFM. Since joining LotusFM Shaastra has produced and hosted a variety of shows including Breakfast, the Afternoon Drive and Weekend Breakfast.
- She has held her current position on the Breakfast Express for the past five years
Accomplishments:
- Winner – Best Documentary 1860 remembering our forefathers 2019
- Nominated – Best Breakfast Show Presenter 2021
- Nominated – Best Breakfast Show 2019/2020/2021
