This is a white- shaggy furred climber of North American peaks, it uses rubbery hooves to scale sheer vertical cliffs where predators cannot follow. It will leave your feet sweaty just watching it ...climb! What is this creature?

Answer: Mountain Goat

Quick Facts:
1. So the mountain goat is not a true goat: They belong to the antelope family actually and are closely related to gazelles and cattle!
2. They come equipped with Built-In Climbing Shoes: Their hooves have a hard outer shell and a rough, rubbery inner pad for traction on steep rock.
3. Mountain goats are Incredible Leapers: They can jump up to 3.5 metres in a single bound to clear horizontal gaps or scale vertical rock faces which is un unbelievable sight!
4. Mountain goats are kept warm in winter with Double-Layered Coats: They survive freezing alpine winter temperatures of minus 40 degrees Celsius by shedding a dense, woolly undercoat each summer.
5. Did you know that you can count the growth rings on a mountain goat's horns to determine its exact age, just like counting the rings inside a tree trunk!
