#ICYMI - The 2026 World Vitiligo Day International Art Competition was recently held under the theme From Stigma to Strength. The event celebrated progress in science, education, advocacy and art. Dr Noufal Raboobee emerged victorious in the category for his incredible work on his book, The Patches... That Made Me Shine. He received the Children’s Book Award for his work which focused on five school-age children from different countries as they explain vitiligo to their peers with confidence and kindness.Presented in five languages, English, Zulu, Afrikaans, Hindi, and Punjabi, the book shows how early education can reduce stigma before it has a chance to settle in.
