Answer: The Seahorse!
Quick Fact: After a lengthy courtship, the female deposits eggs ...into the male’s brood pouch via an ovipositor. The male fertilises the eggs internally, gestating them for ten days to six weeks. The pouch functions as a uterus, supplying oxygen and nutrients while regulating salinity. To conclude the process, the male undergoes intense muscular contractions, using skeletal muscles to "pump" the developed seahorses into the ocean. This unique reversal of roles ensures the offspring are prepared for seawater. How cool and wonderful nature is!
