About Varshan:

Varshan Sookhun has over twenty-five years of broadcasting experience behind him.He grew from nurturing his talent as a community brand to gaining national recognition in 2001 when he joined Lotus FM as the producer / presenter of the Bollywood Billboard and went on to present the breezy magazine show ‘The Lunch Break’

Experience and Progression :

Varshan has nurtured a prolific portfolio within the Bollywood industry and has compered several international concerts in Durban, Johannesburg Cape Town. Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Kunal Ganjawala, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Indian Idols, Asha Bhosle, Shah Rukh Khan and others.
Tried his hand at professional theatre with an acting appearance as ‘reality show host’ on the Bollywood stage production ‘Chalo Cinema 4’. He wrote his first ever full-length theatrical script for the Bollywood adaptation of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, staged at Suncoast, Durban in September 2010.
Plays an integral role in promoting local talent in performing arts, design and movies. He has interacted with many icons from the entertainment fraternity.

Accomplishments:

In 2007 the Durban Theatre Group presented him with two FOOLS AWARDS (theatrical), in recognition of his contribution to theatre.
He was also presented with two accolades by the prestigious MTN Radio Awards in 2012. He has since been nominated three times for the SA Radio Awards, in the “Best Music Show” and “Best Weekend Show” categories, winning twice for the Bollywood Billboard.
