About Archana :

A practicing hospital pharmacist by profession, a classical vocalist and Saraswati veena(an Indian stringed instrument) player by heart, a radio personality by passion, a teacher of the classical art form to impart knowledge of the language, an avid learner by virtue of self-motivation.


Experience and Progression :

 

  • I currently present Sangeeta Nilayamu on Lotus FM
  • Produced and presented the one and only Telugu countdown show in South Africa “Telugu Top 20” for Southside FM in Durban, South Africa.  
  • Produced and presented 2 shows “The Lounge” on Megazone Bollywood 104.8FM and “Simply South” on Megazone South which was the only show to air Carnatic Classical music and a countdown of the “Top 5” movie hits for the  4 South Indian language (Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada).
  • Hosted several cultural and music concerts in Durban as MC,notable among them are the ICCR,'Durban India Day' and Thyagaraja Music Festival 2023 at The Meenakshi Amman Sabha of South Africa.


Accomplishments :
 

  • “Muktidevi” Award 2021 in recognition of women empowerment by Sadafal Foundation of South Africa.
  • Notable carnatic vocal and veena concerts performed at Global Music festival- Dubai, Maarga-Germany, ICCR Durban, Thyagaraja Aradhana hosted by the Andhra Maha Sabha South Africa- Durban, Sapna Veena Festival-Chicago- USA, Veena Mahotsavam -Narada Gaana Sabha-Chennai.
  • Teach devotional music free of charge to the elderly and interested people in the community to empower them with the knowledge of music whilst laying emphasis on an in-depth understanding of the lyrics and the pronunciation of words specifically the Indian languages Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Tamizh and Hindi.
