About Raeesa: I have been active in the entertainment and broadcasting industry for 29 years. I started as an anchor person on M-Net, worked on television in London and Mumbai and then returned to South Africa to present on SABC TV. I then joined Lotus FM and haven't looked back.

Radio Experience and Progression: I joined Lotus FM in 1995 and have gone on to reprise different roles – Current Affairs (Newsbreak) and talkshow (Viewpoint) presenter, Bollywood Billboard presenter, Weekday lunch anchor and now Drama producer.

Accomplishments: I acted in and wrote For Better For Worse, a feature film which released in cinemas in 2010. I have also written for newspapers and magazines and done print and TV modeling. I was one of the women in the book ‘Women South Africans of Indian origin’, which featured women who had achieved a high degree of excellence in their field and had achieved prominence in the country. I received a Mental Health Award for my online series of programmes in 2002 and a Woman of Wonder Award in 2017. I am currently also a certified transformational life coach.

Hobbies: Kathak dancing, playing tennis, water sports, and spending time with my two daughters

General facts: Raeesa is a breast cancer survivor.
