Veena is a former academic of UKZN. She holds a PhD in comparative literature. She has a passion for languages and music. Before she joined Lotus FM as a presenter, she regularly featured in the language and religious programmes of Lotus FM. She has been featured on television as content contributor on shows like The Power Within and Sadhna. She is described as a senior artiste within the South African music fraternity. She produced her own musical compositions that have been received very well on South African radio stations. She’s currently working with the South African Hindu Maha Sabha on a language project. Experience and Progression:

Has been a presenter on Lotus FM for over 2 decades.
Started off by presenting Geetanjali and thereafter was offered the role of presenter of Bhakti Sangeeth
The shows that she presents are very language and culture related and are a very small part of
Lotus FMs offerings.

Accomplishments:

Interviewed some of the greatest artists of India like Martand Pt Jasrajji, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pt Haripersadh Chaurasiya, Anup Jalotaji, Jagjit Singhji and AR Rahman.
She’s conducted many outdoor broadcasts. These often meant featuring broadcasts from the sanctum sanctorum of many temples. The Durban Diwali festival is also one that features as one of Lotus FMs highlights.
Has been involved in lotus FMs lyrics writing competition from its inception.
