LOTUS FM LYRIC WRITING COMPETITION/VOTING 2020
Lotus FM will give away R10 000 in each of the 5 language categories in the Lotus FM Lyric Writing Competition 2020. These languages include Hindi, Telegu, Tamil, Urdu and Gujarati.
Step 1: SEND US YOUR ORIGINAL LYRICS IN THE FOLLOWING LANGUAGES:
HINDI, TAMIL. URDU, GUJARATI OR TELEGU TO STAND A CHANCHE OF WINNING R10 000 (TEN THOUSAND RANDS) PER CATEGORY.
EMAIL US THE LYRICS, TRANSLATION, TRANSLITERATION AND A COPY OF YOUR SOUTH AFRICAN IDENTITY DOCUMENT.
ENTRIES CAN BE EMAILED TO email@example.com OR DROPPED OFF AT OUR SABC KZN OFFICE, 100 KE MASINGA ROAD, DURBAN.
Entries open: 21/12/2019 and close 31/01/2020
Step 2: A panel of judges will shortlist the finalists in the competition
Step 3: Listeners will vote for their favourite songs in each of the categories via the Lotus FM sms line, 33192.
Step 4: The grand finale will take place at the end of March 2020 at which the winners will be announced at a special Lyric Writing Event.
Competition Terms and Conditions:
1.This competition is open to everyone except directors, members, partners, employees, agents and consultants of the SABC and/ or the competition promoters, and/ or their spouses, life partners, parents, children, brothers, sisters, business partners or associates.
2.No person may enter the same or any other competition hosted partly or in whole by Lotus FM within 90 days of winning a competition hosted or in whole by LotusFM
3.The competition will start on the 21/12/2019 and end on the 31/01/2020. Entries received after this date/time will not be considered.
4.There is no restriction on the number of entries. You may enter as many times as you like to increase your chances of winning for this particular competition only.
5.Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain permission from parents or guardians before entering
6.Standard calling rates apply. Free minutes do not apply.
7.All lyrics submitted must be original.
8.Winners will only be contacted by LotusFM/SABC.
9.The SABC/ Lotus FM accept no responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of any communication network or any late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible or corrupt entries.
10.The SABC will not be liable for any costs incurred, responses received or any other consequences of user error.
11.Winners’ names will be announced at the end of March 2020.
12.Prizes not collected/ or claimed within 90 days will be forfeited and disposed of in the discretion of the SABC and/or the
13.The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The SABC will not be held responsible for any disputes arising from the competition or prize awards.
14.In order to claim this prize the winner must adhere to the rules of a specific campaign.
15.Winners may be required to appear on SABC Television or Radio, or on any other medium as shall be determined by the specific campaign.
16.Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them when entering.
17.Winners’ names will be announced on the date and on the medium as will be determined by the specific campaign.
18.Prizes are not transferable.
19.The SABC reserves the right to cancel, modify or amend the competition at any time, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if
circumstances arise outside of its control.
20.Entrants should be South African citizens with valid identification
21.In order to claim the prize the winner must provide and complete all the relevant documentation.
22.Winners use prizes at own risk. The SABC shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person's
negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize/s.
23.Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them when entering.

2.All lyrics submitted must be original. No cover versions will be accepted.
3.Registering of finalists lyrics/songs are the responsibility of the Lyricist, producer
and recording company.
4.Listeners vote for the finalists via the Lotus FM sms line, 33192. SMS’s are charged at R1,50 and free sms’s do not apply.
5.Entries that contravene the terms and conditions or the rules of the competition will be disqualified.
