Althaf Suleman started his broadcast career in 2001 as a trainee DJ. During this time he worked with both programming and the current affairs news team. His academic background is Information Technology - but flying the airwaves has always been a passion. Because Althaf enjoys sport - sport presenting/producing has become more than a job and an extension of his personality.Althaf excelled at various levels of sport. He is an ardent cricket fan, plays the sport with passion. Recently, he has started playing golf and said it is the most difficult sport one can play but enjoys being on the greens twice a week with friends.He is a big Liverpool, Juventus, Amazulu, Dolphins, Sharks, Ferrari, Maria Sharapova, Sania Mirza and Tiger Woods fan.He has interviewed some of the worlds greatest sportsman/woman….. . Sri-Lankan spinner, Mutthiah Muralithran, Yuvraj Singh, Shoaib Malik , Robbie hunter, Jermain Jenas, Carlos Alberto Parreria, Moneeb Josephs, Oscar Pistorious, Suzan Van Biljion and the list is endless. Aside from his IT qualification and on-air responsibility, Althaf also has experience in events management and worked for a large corporate in Gauteng. Althaf encourages South African to help make a successful 2010 FIFA World Cup in SA. He say’s, contribute to the African Legacy that will leave the World speechless. Althaf is currently producing and presenting sport on Lotus FM.You can catch him on the airwaves in the afternoons “On the Road with Rakesh”, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays he presents and produces Inside Sport which is sports magazine program.He say’s radio is all about passion and whatever you put your mind, heart, soul and 150% of hard work into, you are always going to get success. He urges youngsters to believe in “themselves”.
